Color theory fun

For our first art projects, each grade level studied color in some way.

Kindergarten has been using primary colors. These paintings are inspired by Piet Mondrian.

First grade created some color wheel, textured seaturtles.

Second grade created color wheel umbrellas and tiny self portraits in rain coats and boots.

AAnd third-fifth grade students designed their art journal covers using primary, secondary, complementary, warm and cool colors. Can you find the color groups?

Circle painting!

We started our new year off with a beautiful mess!! It's circle painting time! You can find some other versions of this on my blog as well. We are just getting started, but every student ( and teacher if they wish!) will be working together on this circle inspired mural project. It's team work at its best!
